Iran flaunts new weapons

As tensions with the United States rise over Iran’s nuclear ambitions and regional security issues, Tehran has been flaunting its military capabilities and asserting its preparedness in the face of a possible attack.

In recent weeks, Iran has opened a new air base, unveiled new domestically produced military hardware, and issued defense pronouncements at a rapid-fire pace.

At a military parade on September 22 to mark the 27th anniversary of Saddam Hussein’s invasion of Iran, the Iranian military presented what it claimed was a new, medium-range ballistic missile.

What is it they say about those who brag to much?

This display of military might pride coincides with the Bush Administration’s new economic sanctions against Iran.

Iran’s Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar speaks up…

Iran’s missiles pose no threat to any country: defense minister

TEHRAN — Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said here on Saturday that Iranian missiles pose no threat to any country.

“Iranian missiles pose no threat to any country, and they will only come down on the heads of those who violate the territorial integrity of Iran,” Najjar told Defense Ministry Diplomatic Committee members at a meeting in the capital.

Arab League of Cordoba Demand Use of Catholic Cathedral

During summit on “Islamophobia” Muslims demand use of Cathedral of Cordoba for religious services

.- During a summit on “Islamophobia” organized by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the Arab League of Cordoba in Spain, the secretary general of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, demanded Muslims be granted the right to hold religious services at the Cathedral of Cordoba.

The first day of the summit quickly became controversial when Moussa demanded that the Cathedral, which was once a Mosque, be made available for Muslim prayer.

“All churches and mosques are built for prayer and to be used for this end; I think there wouldn’t be a religious clash at all; the clash would be instead of a political nature,” Moussa said. However, he ignored questions pertaining to why Christians are not only forbidden to pray in mosques but are even prohibited from building churches in some Muslim countries.

Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Miguel Angel Moratinos, who is president of the OSCE and the inspiration behind the summit, distanced himself from the controversy and said the Church would have to decide whether or not to allow the Cathedral to be used by Muslims. “Whatever the Church does will be done well,” he said.

Diocesan officials in Cordoba responded by reiterating the position Bishop Juan Jose Asenjo laid out last December when Muslims at that time made the same demands. Bishop Asenjo had said that “inter-religious dialogue” was necessary, but he warned that the “shared use of churches and places of worship would not be helpful to dialogue and would only create confusion among the faithful, resulting in religious indifferentism.”

The bishop pointed out that common worship space makes sense in “an airport or at an Olympic village, as these are not properly speaking churches but rather places of prayer, but that this is not the case with the Cathedral.” He said he was not opposed that Muslims have “dignified” places of worship but that “these places should be proportionate to the number of faithful that practices Islam, which in Cordoba is relatively small.”

“The seventeen centuries of Cordoba’s Christian history deserve to be respected,” Bishop Asenjo said at that time. Recent work by archaeologists has shown that the Cathedral’s sub-floor dates to the 4th and 6th centuries. The Cathedral was completely destroyed after the Muslim invasion of 711. Source.

Nigeria: Ramat Polytechnic Discriminates Against Christians

NIGERIA: MUSLIM OFFICIALS DISMISS CHRISTIANS FROM POSTS

School librarian, others forced to leave after requesting land for chapel.
MAIDUGURI, Nigeria, October 24 (Compass Direct News) – Asabe Ladagu, a Christian widow in this capital city of Borno state in northern Nigeria, has survived without income the past 16 months. It was that long ago, the former librarian told Compass, that Muslim administrators at Ramat Polytechnic forced her into early retirement – without pay – after she and others requested land to build a chapel.

The Christians viewed the denial as deliberate discrimination against Christians by Muslim administrators at a time when there were seven mosques on campus.

Difficulties in the state emerge against a backdrop of violence still fresh in the memory. Under the guise of protesting cartoons of Muhammad in a Danish newspaper, Muslims in Borno killed 57 Christians and burned over 52 churches.

“One Catholic priest was also killed, and in my church, the Church of Christ in Nigeria, Gambaru local congregation, 82 women and two pastors were injured,” Adamu said. “I and my associate were attacked by Muslims too. All my theological books worth over 1.5 million naira were destroyed when the pastorate was burned by Muslim militants.” Source.

Mainstream Media Mum On Christian Persecution

The Underreported Persecution Of Christians

By: Herb Denenberg, The Bulletin
10/19/2007

There’s an uncivilized and widespread persecution and discrimination of one religious group going on in the Middle East, as well as such places as Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria and the Philippines. The zone of persecution and murder extends to parts of Africa, Asia, the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East.
Yet, the mainstream media virtually ignores the story and the world is silent, without great protest or calls for action. Is this some obscure religion that is subjected to this unthinkable onslaught? No, it is the majority religion of the world, involving Christianity and Christians.
Of course, if you rely on the mainstream media for news and information, you may barely be aware of this phenomenon. That’s because the mainstream media is putting out such biased, dishonest and fraudulent journalism – managed by editors with anti-American, anti-religion, anti-military, anti-conservative and anti-family values bias – that it has no time for one of the major outrages of recent history.

This issue was called to my attention by an extensive article on the subject by Lela Gilbert, one of the leading authorities on anti-Christian persecution. She is a co-author of Their Blood Cries Out and most recently author of Baroness Cox: Eye Witness to a Broken World, two books on the subject. She is now an adjunct fellow at the Hudson Institutes’s Center for Religious Freedom www.crf.hudson.org .

Ms. Gilbert traveled to Israel with “the conviction that an assault upon Jews is an implicit assault upon Christians since it strikes at the root of the same ancient tree.” On her visit to Jerusalem, she soon started to focus on discrimination against Christians. She encountered “a kaleidoscope of pilgrims and sojourners,” more than a few of which were suffering from persecution under Muslim regimes.
As she observed the scene in Israel, she was struck by the similarity of Christian persecution in country after country, “evident not only in body count but in kidnapping and enslavement, rape, mutilation and torture.”
As she worked on two different writing projects involving persecution of the Christians, she noticed that neither cited abuse of Jews. Why? With few exceptions, the Jews have already been slaughtered, expelled or fled for their lives from these locations. Ms. Gilbert found that Middle Eastern Christians are fleeing from their homeland “at an accelerated rate and in ever increasing numbers.”

As these Christian communities are being driven to extinction, what is not recognized is that they are among the most ancient of Christian communities. These communities, contrary to a popular and erroneous impression, are not “colonial implants” of recent origin. Ms. Gilbert writes that in fact prior to the Muslim conquest of the mid-seventh century, “the large majority of the inhabitants of the area now divided into countries of Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco were Christians, including many Arab Christians. Even Arabia has major Christian communities in such places as present day Bahrain, Yemen, and the Najran area of western Arabia south of Mecca.

China: Christian Church Leader Beaten By Police

Prominent House Church Leader Repeatedly Beaten by Police

hua1-copy.jpgOn October 11, prominent house church leader, Hua Huiqi, was repeatedly attacked and beaten by police at his home. According to China Aid Association, “Hua was reading his Bible at his home despite police surrounding his house. He was sent to Beijing Tiantan Hospital, because he lost consciousness after repeated beatings from the police.” China’s Public Security Bureau (PSB) recently put Hua under house arrest. PSB officers had been surrounding his house, when they attacked him. Pastor Hua’s 77-year-old mother, Shuang Shuying, remains very ill in prison, serving a two-year sentence. VOM contacts say she is being held hostage by police in order to put pressure on Pastor Hua to reveal names and information of believers. Pray for Hua’s speedy recovery and for God to minister and encourage him while he is in the hospital. Ask the Holy Spirit to convict his attackers and draw them into the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Amsterdam: Bilal Bajaka Attacks Dutch Police – Muslim Youths Riot

Suicide attack in Amsterdam @ Klein Verzet
Last Sunday a 22 year old Islamic terrorist named Bilal Bajaka walked into a police station in Amsterdam and directly started knifing the first police officers he saw. As all Dutch police officers are armed, this was clearly a suicide mission. During his mission he was shot dead by one of the attacked officers. Who her self and a colleague narrowly escaped dead her self after being stabbed in breast, face, neck and back. Their lives could only be saved after a night long surgery in the hospital.

Bilal the Dutch-Moroccan terrorist was well know with the police. He was a known felon who was known to have contact with other, now convicted, Dutch Islamic terrorists. But he was never charged due to lack of evidence. He was however a violent convicted felon who already at age 13 was convicted for attacking someone with a screwdriver and wounding that persons head (for which he was convicted and did community service). Later he was convicted for multiple other crimes, but in the Netherlands that does not add up to very long prison sentences. From April of this year, he was locked up, by court order, in a psychiatric clinic for his “suicidal” tendencies (Which of course has nothing to do with his study of the Koran). But in August he was suddenly miraculously cured and was released. But this Ramadan seems to be just to much for him.

But this attack does not stand on it’s own. After the end of Ramadan, there are lots of press reports of excessive violence even murders committed by the followers of the religion of peace. But of course the media downplays that fact, just coincidence. Thus yesterdays terrorist attack of Bilal is certainly not reported as a suicide mission.

We are not at war you know.

Kate Jones

October 20, 2007 12:00am

Sedat Avci, 21, of Broadmeadows, terrorised women in the northern suburbs between April and August 2005.

serial-rapist-sedat-avci.jpg No excuse: Sedat Avci. Artwork: Lisa Nolan

Most victims were walking alone in the evening and were subjected to terrifying sex attacks.

Avci had pleaded guilty to seven counts of rape.

County Court Judge Jeanette Morrish said yesterday Avci had waged a “cowardly, aggressive and violent campaign” on vulnerable women but believed his prospects of rehabilitation were good because of his youth and his return to the Muslim faith.

She sentenced Avci to 16 years in jail, with a minimum of nine. The maximum term for rape is 25 years. Continued.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host - by the Divine Power of God - cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits, who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
